Jon Mathis has over 20 years of professional experience in higher education at both public and private colleges and universities. He has served as a faculty member, held several administrative leadership positions in student affairs, and currently serves as the Executive Director for the Bridging Institute for Inclusion and Belonging at Chemeketa Community College. Beginning in 2019, Jon partnered with Vivi Caleffi Prichard, Chemeketa’s Associate Vice President for Culture and Community Engagement, to create the state of Oregon’s first non-credit cultural competency certificate program that centers racial identity through a framework of cultural humility. He is committed to creating spaces where culturally diverse groups can learn with and from each other.
