Learning effectively is essential for college success. Chemeketa offers face-to-face and online credit courses to help you improve your academic skills. You can also get academic assistance outside of class in a variety of locations around campus.

Helping Improve Your College Skills

Chemeketa's college skills courses help you develop fundamental learning skills in reading, writing, study skills and math.  

Reading

Reading courses focus on actively reading, understanding and applying information from a variety of college-level texts. Courses offered include-

Developing strategies for learning and studying math is an important part of the math learning process. Study Strategies for Learning Math (SSP060) will help you lay the foundation for math classes you will take at Chemeketa.

Learning Strategies for Online Classes

Chemeketa instructors are finding more and more ways to integrate online learning into their classroom. Some classes even meet solely online. Learning Strategies for Online Students (SSP125) prepares you to manage the responsibilities and technology for success in online classes.

    Tutoring & Study Skills Center

    Enrolled Chemeketa students can access free academic support services, including drop-in tutoring in a variety of subjects, academic success workshops and personalized consulting.     Writing Center

    Writing Center instructors provide free, one-on-one writing support in person and online for Chemeketa students enrolled in any writing class.
