Getting Started - How to Enroll

Once you have enrolled please contact the Polk Center at 503.623.5567 to make an appointment with our advisor. Advising appointments can be held in person, by phone, or on Zoom.
New Student Advising
All new students to Chemeketa are required to meet with an advisor before being allowed to register for classes for the their first three terms. These sessions help students plan and register for classes, understand placement test scores, access student services and learn more about attending Chemeketa.
Once you've applied to Chemeketa for student status you can contact the Polk Center at 503.623.5567 or at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment with our advisor. Please have your student ID/K# and student Chemeketa email account available when making an appointment.
Academic Advising, Counseling & Accessibility Services
Face-to-face and remote advising services are available at the Polk Center. Students can use their my.chemeketa, email email@example.com, or call 503.623.5567 to make an in-person, phone or Zoom appointment with our advisor.
Personal, Career or Crisis Counseling
Face-to-face and remote personal and career counseling services are available through the Polk Center and are free to currently enrolled students. All counseling appointments are confidential. You can make an appointment with the Polk Center's counselor, Julio Cortez through your my.chemeketa account or feel free to give us a call and we will make that appointment for you.
Face-to-face and remote accessibility services are available at the Polk Center. You can go fill out an accessibility services request form at https://www.chemeketa.edu/students/student-services/student-accessibility-services/apply-for-services/ to contact an accessibility services specialist, or contact the Polk Center and we can make that appointment with our on-site accessibllity services specialist, Dennis Crepeaux.
Placement and Proctored Testing

Students requesting special accommodations for placement testing should contact Accessibility Services at the Salem campus (503.399.5192).
Proctored Student Testing
NOTE: PROCTORED STUDENT TESTING FOR BOTH CHEMEKETA STUDENTS AND OUTSIDE INSTITUTIONS HAS BEEN SUSPENDED AT THE POLK CENTER

Student ID cards
Chemeketa student ID cards are currently available at the Polk Center. They are also always available on the Salem Campus in Building 2.
To get a Chemeketa ID card, you need to be a current Chemeketa student, have a current student ID number, and have no holds on your Chemeketa account. There is no charge for your first card, but replacement cards cost $5 each. Student ID cards are needed to utilize in-person services in the library, tutoring services, computer labs, printing & copy machines, and bookstore.
Parking Permits are not required at Chemeketa Polk. Permits are required at all other Chemeketa locations.
