Chemeketa wants to help you reach your academic goals. There are academic standards that the college has put into place in order to help you progress academically.
Academic Standing Student Success Contract
There are four different types of academic standing. Additional information on each type is available below.

Academic Good Standing
You are in good standing by having a cumulative GPA of 2.00 and completing each term with a 2.00 GPA.
Academic Good Standing is different from the Satisfactory Academic Progress required by Financial Aid.

Academic Warning
Your term GPA is below a 2.00 or you have attempted 36 credits or less and have a cumulative GPA below a 2.00.Schedule a meeting with an advisor or counselor. View the Student Success Workshop video.

Academic Probation
You had a term below a 2.00 GPA following a term on warning status and have attempted 18 or more credits OR you have attempted 37 or more credits and have a cumulative GPA below a 2.00. You may remain on probation until you attain a 2.00 cumulative GPA as long as you complete each term with a 2.00 GPA.You will need to meet with an advisor or counselor to discuss success strategies, helpful resources and create a Student Success Contract.

Academic Suspension
You were on probation and have 37 or more attempted credits AND earn a term GPA below 2.00 AND have a cumulative GPA below 2.00.You will be sent an email that you will be suspended for one term and your classes will be dropped if you are already registered for the following term. An academic suspension standing will prevent you from registering. In order to return to Chemeketa you'll need to complete the reinstatement process at least one month prior to the term in which you wish to return.The reinstatement process requires you to meet with a counselor and fill out the Academic Standing Reinstatement Form.If you have experienced extenuating circumstances that prevented your academic success you can file an Academic Standing Appeal.
