Yamhill Valley Student Clubs & Organizations
You can become involved in a number of different clubs while you are at Chemeketa. Clubs can be academic, curriculum-related, activity-oriented or based on a specific interest. Club sponsored events include special lunches, dances, displays, trips, fairs and more.
We are currently seeking input for the types of clubs and organizations students are interested in starting at the Yamhill Valley campus.
Examples of past clubs at YVC are -
- Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Club
This club offers a welcoming and supportive safe space for LGBTQ+ people and their allies, discuss LGBTQ issues and plans events related to the LGBTQ+ Topics. - Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. PTK also provides opportunity for leadership, service, scholarship and fellowship in an intellectual and community-oriented environment. - Spanish Club
This club's purpose is to immerse students in the Spanish language and culture through conversation and community. Spanish club is open to anyone interested in practicing Spanish-speaking skills. Explore new cultures through conversation, Spanish language movies, fun activities, and delicious snacks. Join us for club meetings and Spanish movie days through-out the term.
If you don't see a club you'd like to participate in, you can start a new club. You only need three interested students and a staff or faculty advisor. If you have questions about a club, or if you are interested in starting a club, please contact our student leaders.

To serve as many individuals as possible, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
1. One visit per week

3. Follow the limit signs. These are in place for those harder to obtain items.
4. If there are supplies/items you wish we had, please let us know.
Need additional resources? Please go to our student resource page for links to services in your area.

YVC Student Emergency Relief Fund
YVC Student Emergency Funds
The Chemeketa Student Relief Fund was created to assist students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency.
Emergency assistance is for students at risk of dropping out of college due to financial hardship. Students must complete an online application form and show proof of financial hardship. Students may apply for funds when they have exhausted all other resources. Our goal is to help students during a time of need. Funding is limited and made possible by Chemeketa staff donations.
These funds are not intended to be used for routine expenses or as an alternative to financial aid. Requests must be urgent in nature due to a temporary hardship, event, or unforeseeable circumstances.
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled with Chemeketa listed as their home school for the term financial assistance is being requested
- For the YVC Emergency fund, the student must be attending classes offered through Yamhill Valley Campus (Students not attending YVC classes can request emergency funds here.)
- Minimum 2.00 GPA
- Registered for classes during the term they are requesting funds and the expense must fall within the term, requests will not be considered during term breaks
- In good standing with financial aid, not in denied status
Expenses Generally Not Covered
- Expenses that are regular, anticipated, ongoing, or non-emergency related
- Non-essential utilities (i.e. phone, cable)
- Parking permits, tickets, library fines, and other fines
- Mistakenly incurred or preventable expenses
- Normal and anticipated academic expenses already covered through financial aid
- Computer purchase or replacement
Award Procedures
Students in need of emergency financial assistance may submit a request accompanied by supporting documentation that demonstrates financial need and provides evidence of the existence and cost of the hardship request. Applicants may be required to meet with an advisor to discuss their application.
Emergency fund awards will be distributed in a fashion appropriate to the request needs. Additionally, funds may impact a student's taxable income and may be reported to the IRS.
